The Summer Choir that Never Stopped

Angela HawaleshkaUnder the artistic direction of Angela Hawaleshka, the Alexander Singers was formed in 1988 as a summer choir. The Singers were given the name as a tribute to Angela’s father Alexander, who was a
great lover of Gilbert & Sullivan.

After perfoming a short operetta in a church basement in 1988, the group was inspired to produce even bigger and better musicals ever since from Gilbert & Sullivan’s "H.M.S. Pinafore", "Goldoliers" "The Mikado" to Broadway musicals such as "Oklahoma."

We have an educational mandate to developing the singing talents of aspiring artists through our annual winter choir and in preparing for the fully staged productions that we present each spring. An Ensemble of the Alexander Singers performs for hospital patients, community/corporate events and dinners. We operate self-sufficiently as a not-for-profit organization and are involved in community support for charities. New members are always welcome.
